Comedy play

An English play ‘You Never Can Tell’ for raising funds for two city-based orphanages will be staged at T.V. Ramana Pai Hall, Navbharat Circle on August 30 at 6 p.m. A theatre group ‘Stage Craft’ and Mangalore Ladies Circle-82 will be the host. The play is an adoption of George Bernard Shaw and directed by Ramona Mathias. It is a comedy play which deals with women’s empowerment and struggle of the common man during the 1890s in London.

Concert

Sangeetha Parishat and Bharatiya Vidya Bhawan will host a carnatic concert at Sharada Vidyalaya on Sunday. K. Mayuri of Polali will present a vocal concert at 4 p.m. It will be followed by a flute recital by Shantala Subrahmanyam of Chennai.

Office shifted

The office of the Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy will be shifted to the Tulu Bhawan, its own building, at Urwa Stores on Sunday. Ministers and legislators will be present on the occasion at 10 a.m. Now the academy’s office is housed at Mangaluru City Corporation building at Lalbagh on rental basis.

Art show

Gallerie Orchid, II floor, Excel Mischief Mall, K S Rao Road will host a solo exhibition of paintings of Wilson D’Souza from August 29 to September 7. In all, 27 paintings in medium to big size canvasses will be displayed. The gallery remains open from 10.30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
