Two new judges for HC Bench

April 09, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:36 am IST - MADURAI:

Justices S.S. Sundar and B. Gokuldas, two of the six newly appointed judges of the Madras High Court, have been deputed to its Bench here with immediate effect leading to reshuffling of portfolios allotted to some of the existing judges from Monday.

While Mr. Justice Sundar has been posted in a Division Bench led by Justice S. Manikumar, the administrative judge of the Bench here, Mr. Justice Gokuldas would sit in a Division Bench presided over by Justice A. Selvam, the second judge in seniority in the Bench. Justices C.T. Selvam and G. Chockalingam, who had been part of the two Division Benches for the last two months, have been allotted individual portfolios. While the former would hear civil revision petitions, the latter has been allotted bail and anticipatory applications.
