Observers review election preparedness

A meeting for the five general observers and a police observer, who have reached Madurai district, to review the election preparedness was organised at the Collectorate here on Saturday.

In the meeting chaired by District Election Officer and Collector K. Veera Raghava Rao, election-related works, including performance of flying squads, static surveillance teams and arrangements being made in polling stations, were reviewed.

Officials said that the public or political parties could report any violations to the general observers and police observer at their respective offices between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. every day.

Office of T.K. Jose (7598039639), in-charge of Madurai East and Melur constituencies, will respectively be Madurai East and Melur Taluk offices.

Office of Nikunja B. Dhal (7598039640), in-charge of Sholavandan and Madurai North constituencies, will respectively be Vadipatti Taluk Office and Zone II Office of Madurai Corporation.

Office of Amarnath (7598039641), in-charge of Madurai South and Madurai Central constituencies, will respectively be Zone III and Zone IV offices of Madurai Corporation.

Office of Huzar Lollen (7598039642), in-charge of Madurai West and Tiruparankundram constituencies, will respectively be Zone 1 office of Madurai Corportaion and Tirupparankundram Taluk Office.

Office of Yashwant Rao (7598039643), in-charge of Tirumangalam and Usilampatti constituencies, will respectively be Tirumangalam Taluk Office and office of Usilampatti Revenue Divisional Officer.

Office of police observer Vijay Singh M. Jadhav (7598039630) will be Circuit House in Alagarkoil Road.
