GRH buys two battery cars

Two battery-operated cars have been procured by Government Rajaji Hospital for use by patients and staff to move around the campus.

Hospital sources said that the vehicles had been bought at a cost of Rs.7 lakh each.

Their service will be inaugurated during the platinum jubilee celebrations which commence on Sunday, sources said.

One of the two vehicles has been designed to carry one patient at a time on stretcher while the other has seats to carry three people.

Hospital authorities said that the cars would be used on the main campus of GRH and an initiative made to procure a few more cars through organisations that want to donate to the hospital as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.
