Cheating case against AIADMK councillor

The City Police have registered a cheating case against ruling party councillor of Madurai Corporation S.K. Suseendiran (52) for reportedly duping a city resident by collecting Rs. 2 lakh from him on the promise of getting him permission for a roadside shop.

The police said M. Panchavarnam (38) of Vandiyur complained that the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam councillor, representing ward 31, took the money from him in February 2015.

He promised Panchavarnam that he would get permission from the Corporation for him to set up a roadside shop. However, he neither fulfilled his promise nor returned the money.

Based on the complaint filed by Panchavarnam, Anna Nagar police have registered a case of cheating and for criminal breach of trust against Suseendiran.
