Two persons snatched six sovereigns of gold chain from Y. Muthulakshmi while she was riding pillion with her father on a moped, under Kalligudi police limits on Wednesday. The police said that Veerapandi (51) of Kokkalancheri had gone to Allampatti in Virudhunagar district to bring home his married daughter. While the duo was riding on the moped on Avalsurampatti road, two persons riding on a motorbike, stopped their bike and the pillion rider pulled the woman’s gold chain at around 3 p.m. The woman, who fell down, attempted to put up some resistance.
However, the duo fled from the scene.
