Umrah pilgrimage

For the first time, Umrah pilgrims flew from Madurai to Jeddah via Colombo on April 19.
A statement from Mihin Lanka airlines said that a group of 27 passengers travelled to Colombo from Madurai from where they took a connecting flight to Jeddah by Sri Lankan Airlines. Otherwise, the Umjrah pilgrims would have to leave from either Tiruchi or Chennai. Mihin Lanka was focussed on providing more options via Colombo for pilgrims looking for hassle-free and affordable solutions, the statement added.
