Six more companies have entered into agreements to develop IT campuses during the second phase of the development of Infopark.
Expressing satisfaction at the progress made by Infopark, Minister for IT and Industries P.K. Kunhalikutty said at an investors’ meet organised by Infopark to evaluate Phase II progress on Friday that the State government along with the local bodies would actively support its development.
The companies that have entered into agreements with the park were UST Global, Trans Asia, Claysys Technologies, Syscon group, Brigade Enterprises and Media Systems, said a release. Ferston Infratel Pvt Ltd and Abad Builders jointly proposed to develop infrastructure.
Cognizant is developing its campus on 15 acres in Phase II. The first stage of the company’s campus will be ready for operations this year.
“Our target is to double the built-up area to six million square feet by 2015,” Infopark CEO Hrishikesh Nair said during the meet. “Also, Infopark is expecting the export revenue to cross Rs. 2,000 crore this financial year,” he said.
10,000 jobsThe park expects to create over 10,000 additional jobs during 2014-15.
Phase II will have amenities that include common internal roads, a 220 KV gas insulated sub station, storm water drains, cable trenches, data connectivity as well as water treatment and supply.
As part of Phase I, work on the Tata Consultancy Services campus and Brigade campus were also progressing. Mr. Kunhalikutty inaugurated a security camera system on the campus. MLAs Benny Behanan and V.P. Sajeendran were among those present on the occasion.
