Minor boys arrested on charge of thefts

The Cheranalloor police heaved a sigh of relief on Wednesday after they claimed to have cracked the continuing thefts over the past five days with the arrest of two minor boys based in Paravur.

The denial of admission in a school in their neighbourhood reportedly sparked off the antics of the boys who had a case registered against them for damaging the school office. They then allegedly broke into a locked house but the attempt to steal a two-wheeler was thwarted as the occupants returned.

But the next day, they stole the bike when no one was around. This was followed by a theft of Rs.1,000 from a poultry shop and two costly cycles from a flat on the same night.

After a gap of two days, they broke into a mobile shop and fled with two mobile phones. They were eventually nabbed after the Cheranalloor police found them under suspicious circumstances on Wednesday at 3 a.m.
