GCDA operations turn digital

The Greater Cochin Development Authority (GCDA) has been fully computerised.

District Collector M.G. Rajamanickam launched the computerised system by accepting a demand draft for Rs.28 lakh towards advance booking of the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium at Kaloor.

The National Informatics Centre had developed modules for computerised handling of financial accounting, salary bills, personal information, budget control, and rent collection at the GCDA.

Thanks to computerisation, the accounting format has been shifted from singly entry to double entry, ensuring more efficiency and transparency in financial operations.

Annual and monthly income and expenditure statements will be prepared using the new system.
