Two more complaints against builder

The Hill Palace police on Monday registered two more complaints against Sreeni Parameswaran, the builder arrested on cheating charges. The first complaint was filed by one Tom Jose from Thrikkakkara who had paid Rs.14.75 lakh as advance for an apartment worth Rs.43.7 lakh near Paravoor. The second complaint was filed by Aniamma from Kottayam, who had paid an advance of Rs.4.5 lakh for a studio apartment at the same residential project. Both the complainants had paid the money in 2012 but the builder never gave possession of the promised properties.

Electricity transformer explodes

Panic gripped the Ponnurunni region of the city when an electricity transformer located at Kunjan Bava Road exploded and caught fire on Monday. Timely intervention by the Kerala State Electricity Board and fire force officials saw the blaze being doused within half an hour. No casualty was reported though power supply was disrupted for the major part of the day.

One held on charge of

brewing arrack

The Njarackal police on Monday arrested a youth on charge of possessing and brewing arrack. The arrested has been identified as Mukilesh, 24, alias ‘Koottaali’, a resident of Elankunnappuzha. Mukilesh was taken into custody while he was engaged in distilling liquor with three others at Pallampilli near Elankunnappuzha. While the police managed to nab Mukilesh with 500 ml of arrack, the others escaped by jumping into the backwaters.
