The YSR Congress Party has observed that the electoral alliance between TDP and BJP will not help both to win seats but will lead to minorities and united State advocates distancing themselves from the TDP.
The alliance was proof of TDP’s weakness and not its strength, YSR Congress senior leader Ummareddy Venkateswarlu said here on Sunday. TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu desperately needed additional capabilities to face Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy’s party and that was why he had entered into alliance with BJP.
“Mr. Naidu’s desperation to return to power is so bad that he has even tried to rope in parties like Lok Satta and the recently launched Jana Sena”, he alleged. Terming the alliance “immoral and unholy” the YSRCP leader recollected how the two parties were indulged in mudslinging before they entered into tie-up for the first time in 1999.
The BJP’s State unit had filed a public charge-sheet against Mr. Naidu in 1998 with 100 charges including Mr. Naidu backdoor entry to power by unseating N.T. Rama Rao in 1995. Mr. Naidu had laid foundation for bifurcation of the State in 1999 itself when he entered into tie-up with BJP, which had promised one-vote two-states in its 1997 plenary at Kakinada, Mr. Venkateswarlu said.
Stating that all parties which had tie-up with TDP suffered badly, Mr. Venkateswarlu noted that TRS has said it after 2009 elections and BJP would repent after 2014 elections.
