Securing an income certificate could take anywhere between three to five days for a common man who follows the rules. But brokers who move around the Tahsildar offices in the city and sub-urban areas are managing to get it within a few hours. The Anti-Corruption Bureau that recently arrested Taheruddin, senior assistant in Minority Welfare Department in Ranga Reddy district and a broker Aijazullah for siphoning off Shaadi Mubarak Scheme funds during the investigation found out that a person Wajid was helped in obtaining income certificate. It is must for any applicant to submit Income Certificate with an annual income of less than Rs.2 lakh to be eligible for the scheme. “Wajid applied for the income certificate by submitting different identity documents obtained fraudulently. Then with the help of his sources in Saroornagar mandal office he secured the certificates within a few hours,” ACB Ranga Reddy DSP J. Prabhakar said.
