TS to celebrate Konda Laxman birth centenary tomorrow

The Telangana Government has decided to celebrate the birth centenary of Konda Laxman Bapuji, one of the first activists of the movement for separate statehood, officially on September 27. However, it will be held at Ravindra Bharati on September 28 as Ganesh immersion procession will take place in the city on Sunday. In a statement, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Saturday recollected the role of Konda Laxman Bapuji in the statehood movement and directed the officials to organise his birth anniversary officially.

The Chief Minister also recollected the services of former MP of Hyderabad G.S. Melkote , when the latter’s son Gopal Melkote called on the former along with Chief Technology Officer of Applied Materials, US, Omkarama Nalamasu.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister on Saturday took a decision to implement the recommendations of the Pay Revision Commission-2010 to the Contract Residential Teachers (CRTs) working in the tribal welfare residential school in the State.

As per the decision, secondary grade teachers would get a minimum basic pay of Rs.10,900 per month and the school assistance Rs.14,800.
