Toshiba firm bags two orders

Toshiba Transmission & Distribution Systems (India) Pvt. Ltd has bagged a UHV transformers package order from Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd and an EPC contract for a 220 kV substation from Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Ltd.

Together, the two are valued at Rs. 131 crore, sources said. A release from TTDI on Monday said the seven units of 765 kV transformers with a capacity of 500 MVA will be manufactured at the company’s facility in Hyderabad. They will be delivered for installation at Power Grid Corporation’s Kadapa substation, in Andhra Pradesh, which is scheduled to commence operation in November 2017. The EPC contract is to construct a 220kV substation adopting gas insulated switchgears (GIS) on a turnkey basis. The GIS will be delivered from the plant in Hyderabad. The substation is scheduled to commence operation in June 2017.
