Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has accepted the invitation of Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise to be present at the inaugural and final matches of Indian Premier League – 10 here next season.
As the team won the recent ninth edition of IPL, Hyderabad will host the inaugural and final seasons, Mr. Rao was informed by Kalanidhi Maran, chairman and managing director of Sun Group which owns the franchise.
Mr. Maran, along with chief executive Shanmugham, Gemini TV managing director Kiran and others, called on Mr. Rao at the camp office on Thursday .
Mr. Maran explained to Mr. Rao that the victory of Sunrisers owed to the captaincy of David Warner and the performance of bowlers.
The Chief Minister assured government support to conduct the inaugural and final matches next year on a grand scale.
He recalled his association with Mr. Maran’s brother Dayanidhi Maran as Ministers in the Union Cabinet in the past.
