Bollywood showman Subhash Ghai has expressed keen interest in setting up a film institute of international standards in Telangana, the plan for which he shared with the Minister for Panchayat Raj and IT, K.T.Rama Rao, here on Monday.

Visiting the Minister at Secretariat, Mr.Ghai expressed happiness at the development initiatives taken by the Telangana government for film industry, and evinced interest to work here, a press statement from the government informed.

In response to his request, Mr. Rao explained about the government’s proposal for a film city of international standard at Rachakonda, and asked Mr. Ghai to consider setting up the latter’s institute ‘Whistling Woods’ there. Mr. Ghai has promised to serve the industry through his Mukta Arts, and said the city has infrastructural facilities required for film industry. Expressing enthusiasm about Mr. Rao’s invitation for partnership in Gaming City, Mr.Ghai said the project would offer opportunities for graphics and content development. Mr. Rao requested the director-producer to offer opportunities to local talent.
