Police permission must to use drones

September 02, 2015 12:00 am | Updated March 28, 2016 02:50 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

Cyberabad Commissioner C.V. Anand on Tuesday prohibited the use of drones or any Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) for private function without written permission from the police.

“There is a need to keep a check and regulate the activity of drones controlled by remote or through Control Aerial Missile or using para-gliders or through Remote Controlled Micro-Light Aircraft.

There is a likelihood of terrorists and anti-social elements using it to launch attacks,” Mr. Anand said.

Threat to human life

The official also said that unrestricted use of the UAV’s or UAS is likely to result in danger to human life and public property.

The decision was taken following reports of use of drones to cover various musical concerts, film functions apart from photographing and videographing in private events in the city.
