Governor takes up army road closure with Defence Minister

Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan took up the issue of the Army authorities here closing down roads for the movement of civilian traffic without the proposed alternative roads getting ready with Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar in the Parliament House in New Delhi on Thursday.

The Governor, who reached the nation’s capital on Wednesday on a scheduled visit, was also said to have briefed him about the difficulties being faced by people on account of the local army authorities’ decisions to restrict civilian traffic movement on certain roads in the Secunderabad Cantonment.
