A Division Bench of Hyderabad High Court comprising Justice R. Subhash Reddy and Justice A. Shankar Narayana on Tuesday expressed deep displeasure at the situation arising out of non-finalisation of allotment of employees between power distribution companies of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

The Bench was hearing the cases field by nearly 1,200 employees who were relived from Telangana power distribution companies. The role of Central government came under scrutiny of the Bench. At that stage the Bench was informed that Union of India has decided to entrust to Sheela Bhide committee the issue of dividing employees of public sector companies and common institutions between AP and Telangana.

This committee was earlier looking after the division of assets and liabilities of such institutions and now it will also preside over the division of employees. An officer of the rank of undersecretary of the Union Home Ministry who was present in the court conveyed this message through assistant solicitor general B. Narayana Reddy to the Bench. Giving 10 days time to the Centre, the Bench directed not to waste even a minute from now and resolve the matter. The Bench posted the case to September 3 for reviewing the progress of the case. It reminded that the AP Reorganization Act entrusted the matter to the Centre if the warring States fail to come to a consensus within the first one year.
