Siddipet Deputy Superintendent of Police Ch. Sridhar Goud and two inspectors who were named in the suicide note of Sub-Inspector T. Ramakrishna Reddy were transferred and attached to the Director General of Police’s (DGP) office on Saturday.

Mr. Ramakrishna Reddy, who was an SI with the Kukunoorpoally police station, committed suicide by shooting himself with his service revolver at his quarters on August 17. Post the incident, Akun Sabharwal, Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Hyderabad range, and Chandrashekhar Reddy, Superintendent of Police, Medak district, are inquiring into the incident.

According to a senior police official, those who were named by Ramakrishna Reddy in his suicide note have been transferred to the DGP’s office.

“They will remain there till the inquiry is completed. The family of the deceased SI also requested for the same. So keeping that in mind, the decision was taken. Their transfer does not mean that they were held responsible,” he added.

The SI had left a three-page suicide note in which he alleged that he was harassed by the DSP and the inspectors.

Earlier in the day, Ramakrishna Reddy’s family members met Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy and requested him to ensure that all the police officers figuring in the suicide note are booked and a judicial inquiry ordered. Mr. Reddy said the government will take all legal steps.
