Celestial fete of Lord Venkateswara begins

Devotees will get an opportunity to witness here all rituals similar to those performed in Tirumala

The week-long celestial fete of Lord Venkateswara commenced at NTR Stadium here on Saturday evening with Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and Union Minister of Urban Development M. Venkaiah Naidu and Union minister of State for Labour Bandaru Dattatreya participating in the ‘Punyahavachanam’ and ‘Vaastu Shanti Homam’ rituals.

Called Sri Venkateswara Vaibhavotsavam, this is the fifth edition of the event in city wherein devotees will get an opportunity to witness all rituals performed in the Lord’s abode at Tirumala till February 12. A replica temple has been created at the stadium for the purpose.
