Police registered criminal cases against Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen MP Asaduddin Owiasi and two of his party MLAs in connection with attacks reported in GHMC elections held on Tuesday.
A case of assault resulting in simple injuries and criminal intimidation was registered against the MP following a complaint lodged by Congress MLC Shabbir Ali in front of Mirchowk police station. Sections 323 (assault) and others sections were invoked against the MP and others over damaging Congress MLA Uttam Kumar Reddy’s car and attack on Mr. Shabbir Ali. Another case under sections 324 of IPC was booked against MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi by Chandrayanagutta police. The Malakpet police registered a case under section 307 (attempt to murder) against MLA Ahmed Bin Abdullah Balala for allegedly attacking MBT candidate Amjedullah Khan.
