ACB sleuths arrest VRO

Officials of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) trapped and arrested a Village Revenue Official (VRO) in Weepanagandla mandal, Mahbubnagar district, on Thursday.

He had demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs.10,000 from one S. Shankar, a resident of Ayyavaripally village of the same mandal.

The VRO asked for the amount to process his application for issuance of a Pattidar pass book, relating to Mr. Shankar’s 10 guntas of land.

The accused official was later produced before a special judge.
