Samantha to promote Telangana handlooms

Actress Samantha has offered support to Telangana Government plans to promote handlooms.

She met Minister for IT and Industries K. Taraka Rama Rao at an event at Metro Rail Bhavan where the former explained about the State Government plans to promote handlooms.

The actress complimented the Minister for taking up the programme and instantly offered to support it.

Ms. Samantha agreed to be the brand ambassador for promoting the handlooms. She also explained her plans to promote the fabric to the officials present there and discussed with them how value addition could be done to Pochampally and Ikkat. She also suggested that digital printing techniques could be used to improve the marketing of powerlooms fabrics of Sircilla.

Principal Secretary (Industries) Jayesh Ranjan and Director of TSCO Shailaja Ramaiyer and others were present.
