National karate championship from January 23

The 34th JKA National Karate Championship would be held in the city from January 23 to 26 at the Gachibowli indoor stadium.

Competitions would be held in different age groups, from age eight to 21, with teams from across India taking part in the event.

Chief instructor, JKAI, Telangana State, AP examiner, 7th DAN KAI Sensei, Rapolu Sudershan, and technical director JKAI, Telangana, 6th DAN KAI Sensei, Dayanand Kumar, gave the details of the meet in a press release here on Monday.

Guest instructor Shihan Kawawada Minoru, 7th Dan JKA, vice-general manager of technical division, Japan headquarters, and guest instructor Sensei Nemoto Keisuke, All-Japan Kumite Championship, Japan headquarters, would train the participants in the camp.

Telangana Minister for Sports, Youth Affairs, Excise and Prohibition T. Padma Rao Goud would inaugurate the championship.

Diploma exams for black belts 1 to 6, international grading exams, referee, and examiners exam would also be held during the meet.
