Yasmeen Fatima (16), who had been reported missing on April 28, 2016, was traced by the Kanchanbagh police at Jhansi city in Madhya Pradesh.
A team had been sent from the city to find her and the girl would reach Hyderabad on Tuesday along with officials. Her family had previously alleged that she was kidnapped, but the police said that Yasmeen had left home after an argument with her step-mother.
According to an official, Yasmeen had left home after a tiff with her step-mother. She had left for Madhya Pradesh in a train and later married a boy there. According to Amjadullah Khan from the Majilis Bachao Tehreek, her father, who is physically handicapped, had approached the former for help in the case.
The girl had reportedly been harassed by her step-mother and a cousin. After she had run away from home, two teams had been deployed to trace the girl twice before this to northern India in the last six months. About four days ago, the Kanchanbagh police received information about her whereabouts after which a team was again sent to Madhya Pradesh to find her.
According to an official, Yasmeen had got married there willingly. Mr. Khan thanked the police, for finding the girl.
