1,160 posts to be filled in NIMS Bibinagar

The governing body of Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) has decided to fill 1,160 posts in its Bibinagar campus and to launch all regular medical and health services soon.

The meeting chaired by Minister for Health C. Laxma Reddy here on Saturday also gave its nod for modernisation of the institution including purchase of medical equipment at a cost of Rs.30 crore. The meeting cleared filling of 1,160 teaching and non-teaching posts and send necessary proposals to Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao at the earliest.

The governing body agreed upon following the existing four-tier system to fill teaching posts. A post-graduate centre with all specialities will be started by fulfilling necessary formalities. To launch all services at Bibinagar, outstanding issues of the building contractor would be resolved as the work was stalled. The campus would be developed into a 650-bed super speciality hospital.

The new blocks planned for NIMS Punjagutta at Erramanzil would have nephrology and urology departments. The new towers would be modelled as identity icons of NIMS. The salaries of contract employees would be enhanced as per GO 14 effecting a hike of 40-47 per cent.

In addition, the meeting decided to extend 25 per cent incentive to NIMS doctors for attending cases under Aarogyasri scheme. A new building would be constructed for attendants of the patients with the help of philanthropists. Principal Secretary (Health) Rajeshwar Tiwari, Finance Secretary Navin Mittal, NIMS Director Manohar, Dean Subhash Kaul, and Executive Registrar Satyanarayana participated.
