: A young woman advocate was allegedly assaulted, slapped and abused by her male counterpart in a courtroom at the Karkardooma courts complex on Tuesday.

On her complaint, an FIR was registered under Section 354 IPC (assault or criminal force to a woman with intent to outrage her modesty).

“I was sitting in the courtroom with my colleague, another lady advocate. The advocate of the opposite party was sitting next to us and demanded that I give him a copy of a judgement. I politely told him that I would give him once the hearing in our matter started as was the normal practice,” the victim said.

“All of a sudden he twisted my hand and snatched the document. He then started abusing me, using expletives and pulled my hair. I was pushed from the chair, slapped and hit in the thigh,” she alleged. A cross FIR was registered against her on the complaint of the accused advocate.
