The Delhi Jal Board on Thursday clarified that water supply to the Hindu Rao Hospital was not affected “despite the fact that no payment has been made till date to the outstanding bills that amount to Rs.238 crore”.

The DJB clarified that there are two water connections running in the Hindu Rao Hospital and the water bills, as per policy of the DJB, are regularly sent to all the departments of the NDMC, including the Hindu Rao Hospital. “Various letters and notices were issued by the DJB to the NDMC and Hindu Rao Hospital regarding outstanding dues but no response was received from their side. The DJB also offered the hospital authorities the option of making the payment in instalments and asked them to work out a plan for the payment to which also there was no response. In fact, the DJB assured to waive off Rs.128 crore as late payment surcharge if the entire amount is paid,” said a statement.
