Vijender Gupta slams Kejriwal

: Leader of the Opposition in the Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta on Saturday alleged that all Bills passed by the Assembly were under consideration and that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was “making false allegations” of these being returned against the Union government.

Talking to reporters here, Mr. Gupta alleged that Kejriwal was doing so only because he had been “cornered in the water tanker scam”. Mr. Gupta said he wanted to remind the Chief Minister that the Delhi government was required to “function under the Constitution”.

Question of authority

“No Bill has been returned to the Delhi government by the Union Home Ministry. All Bills are under consideration as the Delhi government did not follow the laid-down procedure before forwarding these Bills. Arvind Kejriwal has no authority not to follow the procedures,” Mr. Gupta said.

He further said that the Delhi government, by blaming the Union government in every matter, wanted to “escape from development work” since it was “anarchist”.

“The Chief Minister, through his false tweets time and again, wants to defame the Union government,” Mr. Gupta added.
