: The organisers of a discussion at BPS Mahila Vishwavidyalaya in Khanpur Kalan, Sonipat, were at the eleventh hour allegedly asked to withdraw their invitation to All-India Democratic Women’s Association (AIDWA) general secretary and Bhim Sports Awardee Jagmati Sangwan, who was to be one of the key speakers at the event.

Ms. Sangwan has claimed that her name was dropped from the list of speakers on directions passed by the office of Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. “The organisers of the discussion on ‘Social Enterprise and Sustainable Development in India’, which was to be held on May 13, conveyed to me on the night of May 12 that they had been asked by the office of the Haryana Chief Minister to drop my name from the list of speakers,” Ms. Sangwan told The Hindu .

Amit Arya, media advisor of the Chief Minister, however, denied that CMO had any role in the withdrawal of invitation to Ms. Sangwan. Asha Kadian, Vice-Chancellor, BPS Mahila Vishwavidyalaya, denied any knowledge of the programme being held on the campus.
