Two swept away by flood waters in Rajasthan

Two persons were swept away by flood waters in separate incidents in Baran district of Rajasthan, police said on Tuesday.

A 35-year-old man, who appeared to be mentally-challenged, was swept away by the flooded Ghadawali river as the police was trying to rescue him with a rope, SHO Ram Kishan Yadav said.

He was advised to stay away from the overflowing river but instead of following the advice, he climbed down and was trapped, the SHO added.

In another incident, a school teacher, identified as Brijmohan Meena was swept away while he was crossing a culvert in Samraniya village in Kelwada area of the district. Search and rescue operation for the missing is underway, police said. - PTI
