Teen arrested for selling stolen mobile phones

A police team formed to check house theft incidents in north west Delhi arrested a 19-year-old man, who was allegedly wanted in around half a dozen cases of mobile theft, the police said.

Identified as Pankaj, a resident of the JJ Colony in Shakurpur, the accused was arrested when he was allegedly in the process of selling stolen mobile phones, the police claimed.

“On searching him, eight mobiles phones were recovered. These belong to several brands such as Spice, Nokia, Micromax and Karbon,” said a senior police officer.

During interrogation, the police claimed, Pankaj revealed that the phones recovered from his possession were stolen from homes across different locations such as Shakurpur Village, Sri Nagar Colony and Jhuggi Rajdhani Enclave Park in the jurisdiction of the Subhash Place police station.

More recoveries

“We are in the process of affecting more recoveries from Pankaj in addition to ascertaining his involvement in more such cases of theft,” the officer added.
