The son of Delhi Transport Corporation bus driver Ashok Kumar, who was killed in an incident of road rage in May, will now get a government job. The Delhi Cabinet on Tuesday approved the Transport Department’s proposal to provide employment for the son of the deceased bus driver. Mr. Kumar, a DTC driver, was killed on May 10, 2015, in west Delhi’s Mundka area after a youth, who was accompanied by his mother, allegedly beat him to death in broad daylight following an altercation.

Apart from a job for the son of the deceased driver, the Cabinet has also given its nod for other monetary benefits for the family.

Ajay Kumar, the son of the deceased, will be given employment in the clerical cadre (post of Junior Clerk in DTC) on compassionate grounds.

The Cabinet has also decided that the medical expenses of the wife of the deceased driver would be taken care of and her treatment will be done at an empanelled hospital, as per DTC rules.
