Miscreants fire in the air, held

Four miscreants allegedly opened fire in the air, triggering panic in the Dhobi Ghat area of Lodhi Colony on Saturday night. The shooters were arrested at the spot, with the police claiming they were drunk.

The accused have been identified as Ravi, Aryaman, Manoj and Sidhant, all residents of Dhobi Ghat locality.

A senior police officer said the accused were drunk and fired in air late on Saturday night. A passer-by who was in his car spotted them firing in air and called up the police control room

A team from Lodhi Colony police station immediately rushed to the spot and arrested the four accused.

“The four persons were drunk. We have recovered a pistol from their possession. A case under the Arms Act has been registered against them and further investigations are on,” said the officer.

The police added that at least four shots were fired in the air.
