A wanted criminal from Uttar Pradesh, for whom the police announced a reward of Rs. 5,000 and who is an accused in two murders committed within a span of 15 days in May, has been arrested.
Akash, 24, alias Subhash Pehalwan, has also been named in an attempt-to-murder case in Ghaziabad’s Loni police station, which shares a border with North-East Delhi.
“The Anti-Auto Theft Squad (AATS) received information that the criminal would come to the DTC bus depot in Old Seemapuri to meet an associate. Akash was arrested with a pistol and two live cartridges in his possession,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (North-East) Ajit Kumar Singla. According to the police, the motive behind the murders committed in May was a property dispute.
