Man kills wife over not getting breakfast in Delhi

May 28, 2014 07:50 am | Updated 07:50 am IST - NEW DELHI:

Angry over not being served breakfast on time, a man allegedly murdered his wife at Seemapuri in North-East Delhi on Tuesday morning.

The accused, identified as Gautam (25), was arrested soon after the incident.

According to the police, the incident took place around 8 a.m.

“On Tuesday morning, Gautam asked his wife Manju for breakfast. As she was busy with other household chores it took her sometime to prepare breakfast. Agitated over the delay, he entered the kitchen and stabbed her on the neck and back,” said a police officer.

“When she fell unconscious, the accused got scared. He then dragged her body to the terrace as he wanted to throw it from the first floor of the building to make it look like a suicide case,” the officer added.

The neighbours who heard the commotion rushed to the spot and prevented him from doing so. One of the neighbours then made a PCR call and Manju was rushed to Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital where doctors pronounced her dead on arrival. The police immediately arrested Gautam.

Neighbours claimed that on Wednesday night they heard screams from the house. The couple always fought over petty issues, they said. Gautam and Manju (21) had got married in 2012.

A case of murder has been registered at the Seemapuri police station.
