Delhi BJP councillor accused of land grabbing

: The Aam Aadmi Party has alleged that the BJP’s South Corporation councillor, Shailender Singh Monty, who has been nominated for a key post in the civic body, faces cases of ‘land grabbing’.

AAP’s Malviya Nagar MLA Somnath Bharti on Monday claimed that a hotel belonging to Monty has been built on DDA land.

“The land was encroached upon by Shailender Singh Monty. The matter pertaining to demolition of the property is pending with the Delhi High Court,” he said during a press conference.

Mr. Singh, however, has refuted AAP’s claims. He said that he would file a defamation case against Somnath Bharti.
