May 24, 2016 12:00 am | Updated September 12, 2016 08:15 pm IST - GURGAON:

In what may possibly be a daring robbery attempt at one of the country’s biggest hospitals, three men wearing burqas and armed with country-made pistols walked into Medanta Hospital here during the wee hours of Monday. The trio managed to escape after the guards raised an alarm.

According to the police, the trio entered the hospital through an emergency gate around 3 a.m. and sat near the cash counter. Security guards at the hospital grew suspicious after they noticed that one of them was wearing pants. “The guards accosted them and asked questions. One of the three then took out a country-made pistol and aimed at the guards. When the guards raised an alarm, other people who were there came to help. The trio, however, managed to flee,” said Assistant Commissioner of Police Hawa Singh, spokesperson for the Gurgaon Police. A case has been registered.
