A woman has been arrested for allegedly impersonating a candidate in a competitive examination for KVS primary teachers at an exam centre in north-west Delhi. The police said she was part of a racket that rigged competitive examinations.
The examination was held on Saturday. A senior police officer said that the principal of a school in Mukherjee Nagar, which was the examination centre, informed them that they had detected one woman who was appearing in place of another candidate.
Cellphone recovered
“The principal told us that the invigilator noticed difference in the admit card of the real candidate and the ID card produced by the accused. Accordingly, a case was registered. One mobile phone with earphones, one copper wire covered with doctor tape and a button cell were recovered from her,” said the officer.
During interrogation, the woman purportedly revealed that she was a graduate and appearing in place of a real candidate. “Around six months ago, she came in contact with one Sunny at Panipat who introduced her to Ajay, Anil and Johny who are the masterminds,” said the officer. The police said the accused were supposed to call the woman during the examination.
