Two engineering students reportedly committed suicide in different incidents. In the first incident S. Vignesh (18) of Namakkal, a first year engineering student in a private college close to Alandurai, was found hanging in his hostel room on Friday.
The police said that the boy was upset as his girlfriend had ‘ditched’ him. Alandurai police, who recovered the body, sent it to the CMCH for post-mortem examination.
In another incident, S. Samamoorthy (20), of Mettupalayam studying in a private university at Eachanari was found hanging in his house in the late hours of Friday. The police said that the boy, who lost his father, was upset over the demise of his uncle last week.
