Kamalhasan (35) of Kumbakonam in Thanjavur district, was found hanging inside a private bus at the Omni Bus Stand in Gandhipuram on Thursday.
According to the police, the man was working as a cleaner in a private transport company in Coimbatore.
He had used a cable to hang himself. The police suspected that he could have taken the extreme step due to personal reasons.
The Rathinapuri police retrieved his body and sent it to Coimbatore Medical College Hospital for post-mortem.

Students stage protest
Students of the Government Law College staged a demonstration at Vadavalli on Thursday to permanently repeal the amendments to the Advocates Act, against which lawyers are on strike from June 4. They also urged the Bar Councils of India and Tamil Nadu to withdraw the suspension of protesting lawyers.
Cars damaged
Two cars were damaged when a Mayflower tree fell in a private piece of land on Avinashi Road on Thursday evening. The tree could not withstand heavy winds and fell over the front gate. Two cars parked close to the compound were damaged.
