Student Federation of India has urged the Chief Education Officer, Coimbatore, to act against those schools that charge fee in excess of recommendation of fee determination committee and also deny admission to students from families from the economically weaker section. In a release, the SFI’s Coimbatore unit said that it staged a State-wide protest and in Coimbatore against a few private schools, against whom complaints had surfaced.

The organisation also wanted the School Education Department to give up the practice of top-ranking students from its institutions who had completed SSLC to private schools for Plus One.
