Parents of deceased boy end lives

Subramaniam (42) and his wife Valarmathi (42) of KVR Nagar near Kumaran Nagar, in Pollachi, reportedly hung themselves at home on Tuesday, the first death anniversary of their son Shankar alias Nandhan.

The Pollachi West police said the boy died of brain tumour and the couple could not come to terms with this.

Suicide note

The police found a suicide note, stating the reason for taking the extreme step.

They also wanted their property to be handed over to an ashram.

CCTV footage

Special teams of the city police have retrieved footage of CCTV cameras to trace the identity of the gang which robbed about 7.5 kg of gold and silver from the staff of a jewellery outlet at gun point.

This happened at Bharathi Colony in Peelamedu on Monday.

The police are also trying to find out if this was an inside job.

Jewellery stolen

Ten sovereigns gold jewellery was reportedly stolen from the home of C. Sundarrajan at P.N. Pudur near R.S. Puram on Monday.

The R.S. Puram police said that when Mr. Sudarrajan’s son came home in the afternoon, he saw the front door damaged and the jewellery stolen.
