A leopard that got trapped in a noose at Pandalur village in The Nilgiris district was found dead on Wednesday. Forest Department officials, who rushed to the spot, said that the noose was set up to trap animals. They said that the leopard could be six years old.

They removed the carcass and conducted post-mortem examination. The officials also warned people against setting up traps inside forests.
