‘Kovai Utsav’ begins

Thirty manufacturers of jute products, readymade garments, and herbal products have exhibited their products at ‘Kovai Utsav’ that began on Friday at Savitha Hall on D.B. Road in R.S. Puram.

The exhibition is organised by the Small Industries Product Promotion Organisation (SIPPCO) Limited – promoted by the National Small Industries Corporation of the Union Government, and the Tamilnadu Small Industries Development Corporation Limited.The exhibition is organised in association with National Jute Board, National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard), and the Tamil Nadu Kadhi Village Industries Board.

Units and clusters in Coimbatore and Madurai districts funded by these agencies are participating in the exhibition.

Thirubuvanam original silk sari, and Madurai Sungudi cotton sari too are on display and sale.

General Manager of SIPPCO K. Palanivelmurugan said that the manufacturers were directly selling their products at a very competitive price to customers.

General Manager of the District Industries Centre S. Asokan inaugurated the fair.

This is the fifth time the SIPPCO is organising the exhibition in Coimbatore.
