The Nilgiri Mountain Railway (NMR) train services between Coonoor and Mettupalayam have been stopped since Monday evening, following a minor landslip near Adderly Railway Station in Coonoor.

Sources said that a rock fell on the railway track near Adderly on Monday, forcing the train from Coonoor, that was heading to Mettupalayam, return to Marapallam. The 190 passengers in the train were transferred to three buses and dropped off at Coimbatore.

On Tuesday, around 30 workers managed to clear the line. Train services between Mettupalayam and Coonoor are expected to resume from Wednesday. Services between Coonoor and Udhagamandalam were operated as usual, but with minor delays.
