The evil in us
Director Vijay Milton believes that some of the best ideas come when you least expect them. “They come during unlikely situations, from scribbled notes,” says Vijay, whose Rough Note Productions, after gaining much acclaim for Goli Soda, is now almost ready with its next film, Kadugu. “It has a rare combination of actors in the lead roles—Bharath and filmmaker Rajakumaran,” says Vijay. “The world is full of evil people. But the worst are those who do nothing to prevent evil from taking place, even when they have an opportunity. Kadugu is an action thriller about this idea.” The film also stars Subiksha and Radhika, and work is underway on its final schedule.
Another horror-comedy
After assisting director Priyadarshan in eight films and working with Kamal Haasan in Vishwaroopam 1 and 2, Ike has started work on his debut feature film, Sangili Bungili Kadhava Thorae (SBKT), which is based on a story by Atlee. Interestingly, Ike comes from a great lineage of actors: his grandfather is M. R. Radha, and his aunt and uncle, Radhika Sarathkumar and Radha Ravi, respectively. SBKT is produced by Fox Star India, and features Jiiva and Sri Divya, along with a host of supporting actors, including Soori, Thambi Ramaiah, Kovai Sarala and Rajendran. “Both my uncle and aunt play important roles in this horror-comedy. I’ve written the screenplay for the film, and we have roped in Vishal Chandrasekhar to compose music,” says Ike, who believes that working with the likes of Priyadarshan and Kamal has given him the confidence necessary to pull off his debut.
