Pappali

What it is about…

Arasur Movies’ Pappali, produced by S. Ambeth Kumar and A. Ranjeev Menon and written and directed by A. Govindamurthy, features Senthil and Ishara in the lead. The music is composed by Vijay Ebenezer and the lyrics are by Uga Bharathi. Pappali is a love story with a liberal dose of comedy.

What they say…

Producer S. Ambeth Kumar: I am in the construction industry and my friend, A. Ranjeev Menon, is an NRI. When the director came with an arresting plot which has comedy as the main focus, we decided to produce it. Pappali will be a laugh riot with love and sentiment in equal measure.

Director A. Govindamoorthy: I have worked with various directors such as Sasi, Ezhil and Simbu Devan. My first Tamil film was Karuppasamy Kuthagaidharar , then I did Vedigundu Murugesan . When I narrated this story to the producers, they laughed to their hearts’ content and immediately agreed to produce the film. I am sure Pappali will click with filmgoers.

Hero Senthil: I started out as a Radio Jockey and later joined the small screen. I played the protagonist in the popular TV serial Saravanan Meenakshi . Then I acted in films such as Thavamai Thavamirunthu, Sengathu Bhoomiyile, Kanpesum Varthaigal and now, Pappali . I am eagerly waiting for the release of Pappali .

Music director Vijay Ebenezer: I started my career scoring music for gospel albums. Kandein was my first feature film. I followed it up with Kalakalappu and Ya Ya . Now it is Pappali . After the release of the audio, I am getting good response from friends and well wishers. I am also doing another film, titled Om Shanthi Om ”.

Music HighlightsPappali ’s six-track album opens with ‘Bus Stoppile,’ a mass number, in Velmurugan’s voice. ‘Kalam Namathu Kaiyil” is an inspirational song beautifully rendered by L.R. Karthikeyan — one you can listen to when you feel a bit low. ‘Nee En Aruge’ is a melodious, feel-good track sung by Karthik and Shwetha Mohan — here the guy tells the girl he could achieve a lot if only she were by him. ‘Manaivi Veettil’, an ode to the woman of the house, comes next in the voices of Mahizhini Manimaran and Aranai Natarajan. Ranjith and Harini come together to render the mesmerising ‘Ethetho Ethetho,’ a fitting finale.
